FAQ's

Acoustic transparency refers to a material’s ability to allow sound waves to pass through without significantly altering their energy. This is measured by the Sound Absorption Coefficient (SAC), which indicates how much sound a material absorbs.

During our tests, we evaluated the SAC of a standard 12mm gypsum board—both unpainted and painted. The SAC values, which depend on the frequency of the sound waves, ranged from 0.04 to 0.07 for both scenarios. These consistent results confirm that Smarter Surfaces paints do not affect the board's acoustic properties, ensuring they remain acoustically transparent. Whether painted or unpainted, the material absorbs sound energy within the same range, allowing sound to pass through as effectively as the original surface.

Yes. Smarter Surfaces Silver Screen Paint is compatible with both 2D and 3D projectors. When used for 3D projections, the silver paint for projector screen enhances the overall immersive experience, maintaining the vivid effects and depth intended by the technology. Paired with 3D glasses, it delivers sharp, vibrant visuals, making it the perfect choice for both projection modes.
The gain value of the Silver Screen Paint is the highest in Smarter Surfaces range by far, designed specifically for 3D projection, because of its unique properties achieved by the silver technology. This means a very high level of light reflectivity without interfering with the polarity of the reflected light delivering an exceptional 3D experience.
In 3D projection, there are two slightly different images that are projected onto the screen and these images then pass through special optical filters, polarizing the light in unique ways for each image. When viewed through 3D glasses, each lens blocks one image, thus allowing each eye to see a different picture. For this effect to work properly, the projection surface must preserve the polarization of the light.

Silver Screen Paint is "polarity preserving," meaning it ensures that the polarized light remains unchanged, so you experience the 3D effect just as it was intended—without any distortion. This feature therefore guarantees that the full immersive 3D experience is delivered every time.

The Silver Screen Paint works effectively on plaster, wallboards, wood, metal, and composite materials. It’s also ideal for fabrics that are stretched or under tension. However, kindly note that it is intended for indoor use only.
We recommend applying Smart Silver Screen Paint onto a previously primed or painted surface. Prime bare, untreated surfaces with two coats of White Primer.

Silver Screen Paints are suitable for use with 3D projectors ( HD, 4K, and 8K Projector) above 3000 lumens.
During the spraying process ensure the area is clear of people as the spraying process like all paint that is spray applied will create a spray mist which with disappear after a few minutes with ventilation after the spraying is completed and the area ventilated it is completely safe. There is a very low odor during the drying process and the VOC level is low.

Over time dust can gather on your silver screen paint - use a damp cloth ( water ) with no detergent and dap the surface clean and allow it to air dry.

A silver screen is better suited for environments with low to medium ambient light, as it can help to reject that light and improve image quality. A white screen, on the other hand, is better suited for bright rooms or environments with high ambient light.

The flashpoint of the Silver Screen Paint is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
