Internships and further study

Smarter Surfaces also fully support staff members who wish to engage in further education. Several members of our team are currently undertaking degrees in a variety of fields such as Business Management and International Sales.

Alongside this, we run a highly successful internship programme in which individuals can gain insight into the world of business through working on innovative projects in areas such as marketing, logistics, finance and more. Our intern experience goes beyond your assigned job title with opportunities to undertake external seminars, networking events and online courses.

Staff projects

At Smarter Surfaces we really encourage personal staff projects. A member of the team suggested we adopt the Japanese principle of ‘Kaizen’ which encourages everyone to take on a project outside of their day-to-day role, to help improve the way we work as a company. So far, we have set up our CSR committee, improved our customer service and client relationship strategies, established a ‘Buddy System’ for new employees and started a staff pedometer challenge.

Our team also takes pride in creating a workplace where we each feel happy and fulfilled, visitors often comment on how friendly and positive our office atmosphere is. Recently, we created a staff garden where we now enjoy eating lunch outdoors at our new picnic benches, surrounded by beautiful vegetables, herbs and flowers.


Social Committee

Finally, we think it’s important to encourage and maintain a positive work-life balance. That’s why we have created a Social Committee, who have taken on the task of bringing a little bit of excitement to our office by arranging various team-bonding activities. Whether we are playing table tennis in the boardroom, going on a tour of the Dublin mountain pubs or having an in-office pizza night, Smarter Surfaces is a prime example of ‘work hard, play hard’.
